Open Positions

Autumn 2024

Ph.D. student

Topic: Modelling the dynamical heterogeneities in mammalian cell cycle regulations

Category: Either CSIR/UGC JRF, DBT JRF, Inspire fellowship or a Good Gate score for TA-position

Educational requirement: Students with MSc in Chemistry (Physical chemistry as major interest), Biochemistry, Biophysics, and B. Tech in Biotechnology with inclination to theoretical and computational modelling (prior experience is not necessary). Having interest in performing experiments will be good too.

JRF (SERB Project)

Topic: Deciphering the cross-talk regulation between Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition and Cell Cycle dynamics under the influence of Transforming Growth Factor-β

SERB Project position  (Project code: RD/0123-SERB000-046)

Category: At least CSIR-LS or a Good Gate score (TAP)

Tenure: 3 years

Educational requirement: Students with MSc in Chemistry (Physical chemistry as major interest), Biochemistry, Biophysics, and B. Tech in Biotechnology with inclination to both biological experiment and computational modelling. Having prior experimental experience will be preferred.

We are always looking for motivated students preferably NET qualified or with a good rank in GATE for Phd positions. Interested candidates are requested to apply for the positions by sending an e-mail at

( sandipkar@chem.iitb.ac.in ) along with their updated CV.

Candidates looking for Postdoctoral positions should directly contact by sending an e-mail

(sandipkar@chem.iitb.ac.in) along with CV.

Institute postdoctoral positions are available in our group.

We are looking for candidates having expertise in either theoretical and computational modelling or experience in biological experiments. In our lab, the candidate has to engage in both depending on the need of the problem. Thus, Candidates with background in Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular biology and Biotechnology are more than welcome to apply for this postdoctoral position.
